Yin Yoga Therapy is a beautiful new enhancement to the practice of Yin Yoga. Whilst the practitioner is in long-held Yin poses, Randika will use her skills in traditional Thai Yoga massage to work on stimulating the network of energy lines (meridian and sen lines) in the body.
Beginning with the feet, targeting the kidney meridian acupressure point named ‘Bubbling Spring’, the therapist gradually moves along the rest of the body, and the practice finishes by stimulating pressure points at the back of the neck and the base of the skull known as the ‘Wind Pool’ of the gallbladder meridian.
The combination of gently paced, long-held Yin poses alongside skillfully targeted massage provides greater flexibility to the connective tissues and fascia.
Applying pressure to meridian lines helps to open the energetic pathways in the body allowing for the free flow of energy or ‘qi’ (life force), and is believed to restore balance to the physical and emotional body through releasing potential blockages.
Overall, this practice provides deep relaxation and healing for the mind and body.
